Vantaggi
- As THE leader of IT services in India, it is amazing to be at the forefront where all the excitement is, and be associated with this. TCS is struggling to cross that line between an "IT services Indian company" to playing with the big boys (Accenture, IBM) - in all aspects: Revenues, People practices, Outlook, Mindset, and strike a balance in being Globalized, truly international - without forgetting their Asian heritage. Therefore, there are both positives and disadvantages to this: - Great career growth and developmental opportunities (given you prove your worth) - Friendly, personable colleagues with an extremely strong emotional/psychological support network - If information is presented in the right way - senior management does listen, though may be slower to act. - Willing to listen (management) - if approached in the right way (again, dependent on the person) - Very passionate & dynamic people who have stayed with TCS througout the years (not for pay)
Svantaggi
-Some inertia to change (management level) and slow reaction -We are definitely not agile at all -Alot of "fat" (loyalty seems more important competence in some cases) -Autocratic (this may be a result of a cultural cascade from the current CEO) and top-down approach > Overemphasis on maintaining their current crazy growth, may compromise on certain factors like Employee Satisfaction, Pay scales (maintaining low cost while trying to hit higher revenues) - How sustainable is the cost game? Not very. > Inward-focussed. Most TCS-ers though mobile, will not be able to "mix" with the international crowd
