Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. We’ve not used appraisals at Teach First for about 18 months now and have moved to a continuous feedback model for everyone. We did this to standardise our annual review salary review process, removing discretion, so all employees deemed to be ‘on track’ receive a uniform increase. If someone has been on family leave for the duration of a year they are considered to be ‘on track’ by default. So I hope if you were to return to Teach First you’d see some real changes since your time with us.
We pride ourselves in our support for working parents. At any time we usually have about 7-8% of our employees on family leave. So it’s something that’s imperative we get right. You can read all of our policies about family leave on our website – teachfirst.org.uk/working-teach-first. As we want to be really transparent about what’s available to you at such a pivotal life moment. Our support for Working Parents has really grown over the past few years and this year we were excited to be awarded best for ‘Family Support’ by Working Mums. As well as all the work we’re doing alongside our Working Families Affinity Group.
