Coworker are great. You truly form a long lasting bond with many. Depends on the project you end up but you can get some really great management here that want to see you improve, will take the risk and promote you and help you advance in your career.

Inconsistent management techniques from people. Some are great but others clearly have personal favorites. For those select managers, reaching yearly goals isn’t enough. Since it’s govt contracts, it’s hard to move projects and expand your wings. The opportunities are rarely given so it’s difficult for growth development. They focus on how many years you’ve been at the job vs how fast you’ve mastered it in order to promote you. Lastly, pay gap is critical. A company should be forward looking and self correct any pay gaps for employees every year. I’m not talking about yearly merit increase but do an audit check for competitive salaries.
