Vantaggi
- Hot drinks were free. - Occasional free lunches Side note: No amount of free food or tea/coffee could ever make up for anything. Do NOT be tempted or fooled.
Svantaggi
- Extremely high staff turnover (I was there three weeks and saw 5 people, including myself, lose their jobs.) - Moderate-Severe bullying from management. (People were belittled, humiliated and suffered verbal abuse to the point of tears in front of large audiences.) - Graduate-level role that paid the rock bottom legal national minimum wage. - All mobile phones and personal belongings need to be placed into a box when arriving at work, and can be collected when you leave. - Despite informing management of a physical chronic illness, I was expected to load a van with heavy boxes. No training manual or guide to provided as required by law. (Management watched all employees load the van and did not assist in any way.) - Talking to other colleagues in or outside of work was genuinely frowned upon. - If you leave your desk for ANY reason whatsoever, such as bathroom breaks or using a printer, you need to set a timer. If the timer exceeded two minutes per day, then management would pull you in and question you for this. Please note that the toilets are not located within the main office; you will need to use the toilets in the reception area of the shared office space. - Any minor mistake or flaw had severe consequences. - I was personally set up to fail a deadline due to management sabotaging my work. This may have been an accident on their part, yet I still received blame for failing to fix their own mistake and complete the task on the already impossible deadline. - The company has operated under multiple names, including Tectah and Maharba Payments. Neither of these names appears in the Companies House register. However, multiple companies are listed at the same business address under the same director. - Minimal training is provided, and a large training fee is deducted from your first month of wages. Do NOT feel pressured to hurry or rush to sign 'despite demands' anything until you are 110% confident that you are willing. This little detail was hidden sneakily within the text of the new starter document. (So in theory, they paid me for three weeks of work for bare bones minimal wage, and deducted a large portion due to minimal training). - Daily cleaning was mandatory, and by this, I don't just mean your desk area. All employees except for management were made to vacuum the office space, mop the kitchen floor, clean the windows, wipe surfaces, clean sinks and empty all bins, including the managers'/directors' offices. (Only whilst they were present, you were not trusted to be in there alone; they just wanted you to clean up their own mess, whilst they watched.) I worked here for only three weeks in 2022, yet it remains the most unpleasant work experiences I’ve ever had. I watched the entire graphic design team be let go until I was the only one left, handling an unsustainable workload. My final day involved being pulled into a boardroom by two directors and a manager, where I was humiliated, shouted at, intimidated and threatened (towered over me with fists clenched, for simply doubting their leadership) to the point I felt unsafe. My happiest moment was walking out for the final time.
