Vantaggi
In the time I’ve worked at Blue Rubicon (now Teneo Blue Rubicon), I've worked on everything from corporate reputation and employer brand briefs to behaviour change campaigns for government departments. Each client has faced a different challenge providing new opportunities to stretch and challenge me. Our culture encourages us to broaden our field of vision. Increasing our colleague base in 2016 literally did this. Working with new people, learning from their different experience and viewpoints has been great for us. At least half a dozen or more accounts spring to mind that have teams drawn from across our divisions. IMO the integration has been relatively straight forward because generally speaking, we have shared values. It helps that everyone is welcome to share their views. We’re measured on outputs not presentism. Many people are hot-deskers and work remotely from wherever benefits them or their clients. We’re a company that prioritises training and knowledge-share. I’ve taken both internal and external courses provided by the company. There’s also the option of sabbatical postings with clients, a fairly common occurrence where people temporarily join our clients’ businesses. We’re good at maintaining relationships, keeping in touch with leavers who often become clients down the line. We’re also a company that recognises that life happens. We support people through difficult times alongside helping people to reach personal ambitions and goals. We’ve created opportunities for people to relocate or take extended unpaid leave.
Svantaggi
Maybe because we’re always trying to keep moving it can seem like our decision-making leaves some people behind, even if we’re mindful of involving our colleagues. While we’re not about presentism, if you’re new or just starting out I’m not sure how realistic it is for remote working to be an option.
