Vantaggi
-Great benefits: 5-10% yearly bonuses and raises, compressed work schedule, free company gear, unlimited certification re-imbursement, 1 free training per year, 401K. These benfits will keep most people there -Endless opportunities for getting involved in company culture (pizza nights, softball team, brown bag lunches, outward bound events, picnic’s) -Great jobs for entry level candidates; you can learn a lot from the challenging work environments which will help you in the long run. Use this is a trnasition envirnoment -Free coffee and soda’s at most work locations
Svantaggi
-Lower than average starting salaries -Internal promotions based almost entirely on being accepted/liked by management/the board. I have seen this in numerous cases where better technically qualified candidates did not get promoted -Most all advanced level positions are developed through this internal promotion system, thus the resulting TerpSys inner circle -Staying in one position for too long will result in you eventually being asked to leave/terminated. Although they will tell you the reason will be based on negative review criteria. So advancement is key once you hit 2-3 years -You can be asked to leave/terminated simply for not being involved in any of the company activities, I have seen this done. So getting heavily involved will save you in most cases but not all -HR actively looks if you post your resume on any job sites after employment begins
