The food in the mall is pretty good.

The management sucks, they have no idea how to do their job with new employees. They said the Job was based on merit and that if you had more sales you would get more shifts but as a new hire they gave me two shifts and stopped and said the reason was that the former employees were doing better who have been there longer. They also gave me the reason that didn't have enough "hours" to give to people but they were constantly hiring new people. Why not just give other people more hours? Work felt very isolating, the manager would check up on you and then put you in busy work. They had no idea what my job was and just gave me random stuff and barely ever taught me anything, there was no communication. The managers only gave hours to their friends. Toxic workplace. They hired me as Sales and Management intern and not even 3-4 shifts after they demoted me to part-timer and said the position never existed and they never got approved. The store is all over the place.

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
