It was a great place to work until Fall 2022

There have been significant negative changes in culture since Fall 2022 resulting in what they’re calling the “Future of Work” which is the plan to bring most workers back into offices. With 90% of the Cigna workforce currently being WFH this is counter to the shift that has occurred within the health insurance space amongst other insurance companies leaning into working from home. Essentially Cigna does not value employees wishes and does not see how long commutes and stress of being in office will impact the mental health and wellbeing of employees. The reasons being given for bringing us into the office have been incredibly condescending.

The Cigna Group overall is a fantastic company to work for! They invest in their employees and do a great job ensuring everyone, in all departments/locations/teams feel as if they matter with the multitude of perks they offer to employees. Many team members were knowledgeable, hardworking, and genuinely committed to supporting the healthcare industry.

While employed at Cigna healthcare, I experienced a work environment that often lacked consistent communication, balanced workload distribution, and transparent leadership practices. High-performing employees were frequently expected to absorb additional responsibilities without corresponding support, while shifting expectations and excessive micromanagement created unnecessary stress and instability. Over time, this impacted morale, trust within teams, and overall employee well-being.
