- Observing and staying in your lane will show how the front office work culture is politically deviant. Most front office staff have a big ego, are naive, and are two-faced. - No room for growth. - This places a task force hub. - The Knickerbocker has a very low employee morale due to poor leadership and hotel operations. - The Front office agents are scapegoats and buy people treats to feel accepted and appreciated. - Many front desk agents hired for PM either quit or were terminated. - A couple of the front office agents have a superiority complex. - The upper management staff has a high turnover. I spoke with one GM at a five-star property in NYC, where I currently work, and they all mentioned properties like the Knickerbocker owned by Highgate are "hell on earth." - The front office staff, except a few, has a big ego, is naive, and is very nosey about life outside of work, and they will use you as a scapegoat to protect their professional reputation. - The PM staff is far worse than the AM staff, which is why. They're always micro-managed by the manager on duty. - The AM team front desk staff complain too much when working under pressure and experiencing high calls/check-ins/outs. Their slogan should be "It WuZ bUsY." - The employees will regularly overstep boundaries, inserting themselves unnecessarily into conversations and situations. They misjudge social dynamics, offering unwarranted reassurances or advice and even misinterpreting lighthearted interactions. - I dealt with colleagues who were excessively nosy about my personal life. They often inquired about personal matters such as Living Arrangements, Finances/investments, and Lifestyle Choices.
