      I really believe in the work The Marshall Project does, and my fellow journalists are incredibly talented and hardworking.

      I get gaslit all the time. "Expectations" are not communicated so much as weaponized. There's a profound hypocrisy between how much the organization says it values individuals, diversity and work-life balance and how individual managers are allowed to treat their subordinates.
