Svantaggi
Working at any start-up is expected to come with high-pressure, long work days and strict deadlines; however, Tilt/Crowdtilt took all of that to another level. Team meetings were basically an excuse for management to tell all of their employees they weren't doing enough. The cliffnotes from one memorable meeting were: if you're one of the people leaving before 7pm, you're not doing enough, if you're not one of the people here on weekends, you're not working hard enough, if you expect to have work-life balance, this is not the place for you. They are very good on selling you on the dream and potential at their company, but when it comes to following through, it's apparent that it is all talk. They pitted employees against one another, creating an uncomfortable environment for all involved. They held AMA sessions as an excuse to publicly chastise employees who dared to take advantage of the opportunity to ask their founders tough questions to be answered in front of the rest of the company. Though positioned as "transparency", it was just another platform to get people to drink the kool-aid. They demand their employees put their company first, yet it is an entirely one-way street with no semblance of loyalty returned. Business is one thing, cutting employees with no warning, explanation, or acknowledgment is another. If you're looking to burn yourself out for modest compensation, trying to reach unattainable goals in order to realize the dreams of some selfish, inexperienced, self-important "leaders" at the expense of your personal life, this is the place for you.
