Vantaggi
Co-workers are mostly nice people
Svantaggi
The marketing team in NY changed direction regularly and everything was an emergency. I wasn’t able to finish a task, I left projects half done and code stale. With all of these changes my team was always rushed and we often felt pressured to work late & weekends to get it all done. The few times that we were able to launch something, and it was very rare, there was no appreciation of our work from NY leadership. The bonuses my team were promised were never offered, and not even a word of gratitude when we busted our behinds to launch a new product. Even though the engineering managers regularly requested a product roadmap, this was never provided by leadership. As a result, the work was always scattered and random. The different departments don’t communicate, so my team would rush through to get the website ready and with other teams out of the loop, there would be plenty of last minute scrambling and chaos. Too many times we were rushed to get something ready only to sit around and wait, and still get blamed for being too slow. Over the time that I was at TopView, I learned plenty about NY leadership, including the fact that they do not want to invest in their employees and their product. It was always about cutting corners, and doing as much as possible with a small team. Our team was reduced and the work didn’t slow down. I can work in a high pressure-fast paced environment but I want there to also be basic respect and gratitude.
