Vantaggi
- You get to contribute to a genuine difference in peoples life - Can be very laid back at times - If you're supervisor is great then you will have a great experience. - Starting pay is great considering you only need a HS Diploma and you get 40+ hours of paid training before you even start.
Svantaggi
- Can be intense and if you have a bad supervisor/BCBA then you can have a terrible time and work with clients you are not equipped to help. - Management is hit or miss. They are either extremely helpful or talk down to you despite this being a entry level job. From my research this is dependent on where you work, but in my location this was my experience. - There is no horizontal movement if you decide you don't want to become a BCBA - As I said the pay is pretty good for entry level, however you can be placed in a home with a 30+ min drive, They do pay for drive time, but only pay you out if you drove from a session to another. So if you only have one session for a specific day and its 30 minutes away, you will not be compensated for that drive time.
