There is no work life balance. The CEO will text you late at night or on weekends asking you questions and to do things. The CEO is a complete and utter micro-manager who can't delegate tasks. Any task you are asked to do will need to be thoroughly nit picked by her. But good luck getting any sort of response, because she doesn't ever come in to the office or respond to urgent matters. So get used to being stuck in the holding pen. There is also a completely absent co-founder who doesn't feel the need to introduce herself to employees, probably because they are constantly leaving or getting fired out of the blue. The only employee there longer than a couple years gets treated like dirt... not much to look forward in this company. This is a great product idea, but the company will fail because the CEO has no idea what she's doing and refuses to listen to anyone's ideas. Also, they have horrible internship practices. They hire tons of unpaid interns to generate content for them, whether or not the interns are getting college credit, which is illegal in the state of New York. They will also tell you the offer health insurance, but they won't tell you it's close to $400 / month. Beware!

There are so many cons, it's hard to find a place to start, but here goes: 1.) The CEO does not know how to run a business, nor does she seem to understand what is important and what isn't. Priorities are way out of whack. 2.) Employees are treated terribly - no respect, no appreciation, and absolutely no trust whatsoever. 3.) Do you like being micro managed? If so, this is the place for you. Again, a complete lack of trust in her staff, even though she hired them all, so she micro manages absolutely everything, to the great detriment of the company. 4.) The pay is not competitive 5.) There are zero benefits - no 401k, not enough vacation time, nothing that a startup usually offers. 6.) The CEO avoids in-person confrontations like the plague, so all negative feedback comes via email or Slack. Bottom line: you should be able to find a better place to work.
