Underwriting is terrible. TA used to have a large portfolio of products but they have phased nearly everything out and try to fit everyone into the FFIUL which isn't a good policy for the majority of people. 15 year surrender charge is the worst in the industry. The last two years I worked there, they consistently lowered the cap and raised fees. I would only recommend this company if you enjoy putting out fires because there will be a lot of them with your customers. And forget getting someone who speaks english to answer inbound calls. It is a fight to get any policy changes accurately made since they contracted with TATA Consultants and fired everyone in Cedar Rapids. Customer service is a nightmare with no end in sight. Just google TA reviews and see for yourself.

great account management team. Great bosses. pension. decent benefits. managers allow flexibility.

the account managers are the only ones held accountable. other departments don't answer emails for weeks, don't do their jobs and no one in upper management cares. directly effects account managers so you get yelled at by clients and brokers a lot. don't get paid enough to do the job of the account manager and take on the other departments work.
