Vantaggi

Satisfaction in helping the clients.

Svantaggi

The building had lots of issues, constantly needed repairs. Staff overworked, underpaid, lack of appreciation. Upper Management created a toxic work environment. Didn't get the feeling that upper management cared about providing quality treatment, just dollars and cents.

Vantaggi

Friendly work environment especially if you are new here. Senior staff make countless efforts to make you feel apart of the team. Everyone is mission-driven and focused on quality service delivery for demographic served.

Svantaggi

I really don't have any bad thing to say.

Vantaggi

Benefits are comparable with bigger agencies I've worked for (average vacation/sick leave earnings), medical coverage free (cost for spouse and children), paid holidays, etc. The paid days off are actually better than most places I've worked. We get our birthday off every year! More than anything else, I love the people I work with on both ends (clients and co-workers alike).

Svantaggi

The mission we have isn't easy, so when we deal with the hardships of our clients it can be difficult. Serving the homeless population in a city with a less than 1% vacancy rate (for rentals) and rising rents is also depressing at times. On the "Program" side of the house, the better our clients are doing (if they are all gainfully employed), then we have to work more difficult hours to meet with them (early morning or late evening). Lastly, compared to large employers like UCSB or the County, there isn't much room to advance career-wise.
