Staff is close-knit like family. Senior management is wonderful- they always make everyone feel welcome. Very warm, hospitable environment. Great for learning and growing. Also a great variety of experience among staff to help cover every need imaginable.

"Cons" with this company only ever came from external forces, for example the difficulty in securing abundant funding, as this is a non-profit organization, and one that some are hesitant to contribute to due to the population they serve.

You are given a good case load and gain a lot of experience with client and clinical work. They offer supervision for those needing to get their clinical license.

The CEOs management style tends lean more toward micromanaging. This puts a lot of pressure on the staff members and makes it feel like they have to walk on egg shells. Below the CEO is the Executive Director of Adult Redeploy Illinois. She is young and has immature tendencies. She has shown inappropriate language in the workplace and consistently makes negative comments toward staff members. This combination often creates a negative and hostile environment. The work environment tends to be negative. The CEO and Executive Director are consistently criticizing staff members and never praising them for all the hard work they do. When a staff member was let go, all staff members took over her job without any compensation in pay. This has never been recognized. Staff members who are hardworking are often given more tasks and quickly feel overwhelmed or burnt out. The staff members who do the bare minimum are tolerated and never confronted for their lack of efforts. Due to lack of staff, the CEO also takes on the role as HR. This tends to cause issues because there is no one objective. This has been a problem for me in particular as I have been the victim to harassment in the work place and had no one to go to. Policies and procedures change constantly and are not put in writing. This causes confusion between staff members. This has been something that the agency has been working towards, but is struggling to take on this task. Policies and procedures are also rarely enforced. The CEO and Executive Director struggle with confrontation. When a staff members does something wrong, an email is sent out to all staff members regarding the issue at hand. If the issue still is not resolved, the agency turns the other way and nothing is done. There are no benefits with this job: no sick time, vacation, insurance, etc. The pay is far too low. And there have been several occasions when I did not get my pay check on time. There was a three month period (in the year of 2015) where they were unable to pay all of their employees.
