Vantaggi
Huge discounts on bikes, everyone is very bike-nerdy and it makes for great chat at the office. Free lunch and merchandise occasionally.
Svantaggi
I was hired by Trek with little to no vetting, management simply decided I was a 'Trek person'. I was on a 3-month probation, during which time very little was communicated to me about my performance and what specifically was required of me (it's almost as if no one knew...) Once those three months were up, I was told my probation was being extended by another 3 months, and I was set pointless, unachievable targets such as getting 16000 points on a Trek learning platform that had little to no benefit to me. Felt a lot like I was being set up for failure. I tried to check in with my manager to see if I was on track, and she would say avoidant, awkward things like 'just make sure to be checking your emails'. During my probation review after six months, the present HR manager told me that they 'weren't going to get into it' when I asked how I was under-performing. Suffice it to say I didn't pass my probation. For a company where I spent 6 hours a day on calls that were not relevant to me in any way, I'd say I gave my work a good shot with absolutely zero direction or guidance.
