Slip-seat OTR trucks: mattresses are never changed out (bedbugs are problem here)
When you want ANY home time you must clear out the truck so they can plant someone else's butt in the seat as a means to keep the truck generating revenue.
Don't be fooled: the driver is not #1 here. THE TRUCK IS!

The "Sign-on" and Safety bonus are one in the same: You must drive accident-free 3000 miles/week (12000 miles/month) to get that month's award of $500. I was truly told that there are drivers still working on there sign-on bonus more than 2 years into the company because they don't routinely get 12k miles each month.
As for management, I have yet to meet my home terminal manager 4 months into my employment and don't ever think you will meet the Main office management in STL because all the doors are locked 24/7.
