Vantaggi
If you put in the time (I mean time as in 60+ hours a week) then the chance to move up is there. Those you work with in the branch know and understand so you can relate and connect with them.
Svantaggi
If you go into sales it is salary and it isn't some Saturdays it is all Saturdays typically from March-sept so goodbye summer beach weekends. Mon thru fri you are working 11 to 9 and if you need time off typically management will make you feel guilty for taking it The upper management does not appreciate the time you put in that you essentially see their building and employees more than your own family. The compensation when you break it down into hours is below minimum wage. The goals are unrealistic and those that succeed the most do it by cheating and lying and it seems that that is what corporate wants since they keep setting expectations higher and higher. One week you are told this is what we are expecting and the next week it changes. If you can't adjust you only have 2-3 weeks then you're fired. Layoffs happen every year even if they say it doesn't. After you go into a managers role do not expect any help the uppers come in once say change this and this if you don't then you are done. Sales manager is known as the role you go into to die They manage with fear always threatening people with their jobs. I cannot hear "just fire them to prove a point" anymore
