The management do not respect the value that those doing the work bring to the company. While I myself have been put on a competitive salary I know that others have not, and the company only pays full pay during sick leave on a case by case basis, otherwise you are left on £90 a week. Flexible working is rarely allowed, or for employees to work from home, and doctors appointments and emergencies have to be taken as sick pay, which you may not be paid for, thus undermining the actual point of being a permanent employee. While I was in my probation I covered 6 days sick leave with my holiday and was told I would be paid if sick once I had passed my probation, however, on talking to other colleagues about this I found out that there were people who had worked for the company for several years who were still being told they would only be paid statutory sick pay, including a mother who was sick for a week after contracting an illness from her baby.
