The shift from Product and Customer Focus to Shareholder Value focus brought in stifle employee creativity, reward, job enjoyment, and growth opportunity. The new EVP brought over his friends from his former company to clean house of the positive environment, drove many quality employees to quit, and remove any opportunity for growth at the company. When a safety company is more focused on shareholder value of an IPO over their customers it is a sign of decline quality, value, and customer centricity.

The work is interesting. Some decent travel is available if desired. If you work hard and set yourself apart from others you can earn a promotion.

It’s all about who you know. All responsibilities fall on Engineering. Engineering does much more than “engineer” and spend too much time on stuff that admin staff “should be able” to do. When something needs to change the usual solution is to have Engineers be responsible for it because many non-engineers can’t handle mediocre tasks.
