I was working in Wichita, when I got a call from UTLX in El Dorado, KS. to come in and do the hiring paperwork and process. I told my supervisor that I had to go , and explained that it was 4 dollars an hour more than I was making, and a 10 minute drive to work instead of 30. I lost my job upon leaving to go to El Dorado, and in the 30 minutes that it took me to get there, UTLX had left me a voicemail saying that my background check PROBABLY wouldn't clear, so they were passing on me, and had other people to interview. So I HAD a job at 11:30 am, and by 12 I had lost that one, AND was "pre-hired"? and then not hired by UTLX. So by 1:00 pm I was unemployed with no UI benefits available since my job considered me as quitting to go to UTLX, and now I have no prospects for work.
