When I started at WeeCare, it was a fun, positive work environment where people worked hard and played hard. It has potential to be a good place to work again.

As the company grew, leadership lost connection with the team and the company’s purpose. In an attempt to get funding, leadership made unrealistic promises to stakeholders and then started pressuring staff to bend the truth (or flat out lie) to our partners/clients in order to meet these unrealistic metrics. Teammates were also forced to work mandatory overtime resulting in 60+ hour work weeks without any additional pay. People who comment on the unethical behavior or the degrading work conditions are met with harsh retaliation.

Leadership seems genuinely committed to the mission and to doing the right thing. Since the turbulent period in 2024 / 2025, they seem to be taking the right steps to address some of the challenges that came as a result of scaling fast.

During my time at the company, there was frequent shifting in company focus and strategy. It often felt like there wasn’t enough time to fully execute on one strategy before moving on to the next. But this appeared to begin changing before I left
