Vantaggi

The pay has gone up quite a bit so it's actually above average than the area. The pet discounts are pretty good for full time employment and decent for part time employment.

Svantaggi

The management is very controlling of everything. I'd like to say it's just a single person, but I've heard the same problems from the other hospital in the area that is also a VCA. People don't stay employed here very long because of how long it takes to advance in your career if at all. I've seen employees remain employed for almost a year and still not be allowed to learn how to draw blood or give injections. If you're actually looking to move along with your career it can be hard if you're not the hospital managers favorite. The team isn't allowed to train only the hospital manager is because she thinks the rest of us are apparently incompetent fools and only she can do it right. It can take what feels like a century to get anything done because half the team isn't allowed to do the procedures required for the room. You'll be waiting a century or so to be allowed to draw blood even if you have prior experience is the short gist of it.

Vantaggi

This company offers many opportunities for doctors and techs to grow in their careers. They provide tons of support and they've been making HUGE changes to veterinary medicine on a whole. I have never known another company to offer so many benefits and perks for staff (especially techs), and they're even making lots of effort to invest in the veterinary receptionists-the front line associates of the hospital. They're also making great strides to acknowledge some of the feedback we've had for many years. They're savvy and smart, making business decisions that build on a company that will be around a long time (and has.)

Svantaggi

There have been times where transparency and communication are lacking, and sometimes to the point where hospital-level employees feel left out or unheard. Some bigger topics like onboarding and navigating what support comes from where could be more clear. It feels like they've been fusing on new concepts/policies/features to the company, making it feel like a clunky machine rather than building something new and streamlined. Maybe it's in the works, but how do we know down here?
