Vantaggi

I started working at VMG in January of 2020 directly for the CEO. I've worked at a lot of different companies in my career, mostly large corporations. Working at VMG was the first time that someone saw value in me beyond my job title and then helped me bring it out and develop it into something tangible. This gave me a sense of pride in my work and a belief in my own worth. I am so very grateful that I worked there. As you may well know, 2020 was a difficult year for everyone. My brother died of covid in March that year and it was really tough for me because I couldn't be with my family, but Kelly and Mark (CEO and President) were there for me and helped me through, giving space and kindness just as if they were my family. I will be eternally grateful for their care. I’m late in posting this review as I have been overwhelmed with caring for ill family members since I sadly had to leave VMG back in March. I’m really disappointed by the mean-spirited reviews others have posted and felt compelled to share a different perspective. I do think that most people don’t take advantage of truly getting to know Kelly and Mark, because if they did, they probably would still be working there and they too would be accessing their greater talents. VMG invests in their employees. Employees are afforded ample opportunities to grow their skills and stretch into new areas. They have given great concessions to allow people to take care of personal issues. They pay for training and even work hard to accommodate individual’s accessibility challenges. I’ve never in my career seen an employer bend to such levels to care for their employees. I learned so much from working with Kelly. I learned about her resilience, having started this company from nothing. This inspired me. I learned about her heart in how she cares so deeply for her employees. I got to witness this during the covid lockdown when VMG successfully was able to keep their entire staff despite most contracts for work being cancelled while other similar companies were letting their employees go. I learned about how giving she was in her support of other women and minority business entrepreneurs, freely sharing her knowledge to help them thrive and I learned about her bravery as she fearlessly stepped into new business areas and saw the impact her action-oriented mindset had on the overall company. In the end, people have to realize that this is a small company and the people running it are human beings who are allowed to make mistakes. The CEO and President are not perfect and infallible, who is? But when they do make a mistake, they own it, they fix it and they move on. Kelly and Mark, you guys set the bar very high for a work experience and I thank you. I love you both, keep going, keep growing and keep learning. And if you’re considering working here, please know that human beings run this company and you need to treat them with kindness and respect, do your best every day and remember that you are responsible for the energy you bring to your work.

Svantaggi

Being a small company, the benefits package is not as robust as one might be accustomed to in the corporate technology sector.

Vantaggi

The creative team are talented folks, stuck in a never ending pit of turmoil.

Svantaggi

I worked at VMG for a few years and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing due to the culture shaped from the top down. The owner fosters a hostile work environment—frequently yelling at employees, disregarding boundaries, and reacting with hostility if ideas don’t align with her own. She exhibits clear narcissistic behavior and insists on complete control, often undermining employees in public settings. Constructive input is not welcomed, and speaking up can make you a target. Worse yet, compensation is well below industry standards. Despite this, employees are routinely expected to take on additional responsibilities without fair pay or recognition. Burnout is common, and appreciation is virtually nonexistent. Company funds are often redirected toward personal pet projects that offer no real value to the business. This mismanagement not only drains resources but also creates confusion about priorities. Don’t expect support from department heads either. Many are more concerned with protecting themselves than supporting their teams, and it's not uncommon to be thrown under the bus to preserve their standing. If you value a respectful, transparent, and supportive work environment, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. There are far better organizations where your time, talent, and well-being will be respected.
