Values held by executive team, nice campus, gyms, 401k match..but all of that fades to black as you see that marketing doesn't follow the values, doesn't want to work as a team, isn't given authority or budget to act on anything, and serves to work against anyone with an idea to help vmware succeed. There are some great people here, but they are probably looking for a job. Read the other reviews from 2015 - I agree with these reviews and should have read them more carefully. If you are in an engineering, release, dev, or a product team you are far better off. That's where the intelligence lives and people who are just normal and hard-working.

Bait and switch tactics. Was hired for one job, was doing nothing near that and getting abused right from the start. I've never seen so many people doing almost nothing to move business forward except attack one another and refuse to collaborate. Expect layoffs with the Dell buyout - but that's a good thing. They've infused Oracle management with the worst of Cisco marketing management so that you get 'do nothing, and do it now.' Management needs to be walked out for inability to collaborate, for how they treat employees, and for how they backstab and whine and point fingers because they just can't get the job done. Integrated marketing appears to be a waste of money for the company. Not sure how they add value except as gatekeepers who record what's going on. Business units have all of budget and influence and work around marketing as much as possible. VPs do not spend any time with the downstream so they don't know what is actually going on. VP's are busy fighting with one another rather than putting together a success plan for the company. Don't waste your energy here, go somewhere else with upside to make a difference.
