Managers often block employees from moving to other teams with better technology stacks, even when they express interest and apply. Instead of supporting growth, they deny releases and subject employees to constant taunts and pressure. Favoritism is rampant relatives of favored employees are hired despite poor interview performance, not for their skills but to serve as loyal supporters of the manager. This creates an unhealthy environment where merit is ignored, and managers exploit their position to build a circle of unquestioning subordinates. Office politics consistently overshadow talent and genuine performance. While the company claims to be an equal opportunity employer on its website, in reality, these managers actively undermine that principle by promoting bias, blocking internal mobility, and enabling unfair hiring practices. Compensation is significantly below industry standards. Onsite opportunities are not based on capability but on personal rapport with managers. In some cases, favored employees barely contribute yet receive top perks. Managers often misuse quarterly or half-yearly fun budgets, diverting them for personal or political gains.

The people. I worked with genuinely talented, hardworking colleagues who showed up for each other and for the work, even when leadership made that hard.

Leadership at the senior level was chaotic and unclear, and it trickled down into everything. Projects routinely landed with little to no notice, leaving teams scrambling instead of planning. Budgets were micromanaged from the top while strategic direction was not — a strange mix of tight control over spending and almost no clarity on priorities. Communication from senior leadership rarely made it down to the people actually doing the work, so teams were often the last to know about decisions that directly affected them. There was also a clear undercurrent of fear among some senior leaders that discouraged any real innovation or experimentation — better to play it safe than propose something new. If you're someone who thrives on clarity, planning, and a culture that rewards new ideas, this is not that environment.
