University offers tuition compensation programs for all salaried employees (with approval from management) Summers are very relaxed since students are gone, and winter break is essentially optional if you have enough vacation. Salaries are much lower than in private sector, somewhat acceptable due to the low cost of living in Blacksburg but one would think that the best university dining program in the country would pay a little better. Getting beyond a Food Production Supervisor and into management is fairly difficult, requiring years of commitment or previous experience.
