Lack of middle management, siloed on projects due to WFH

I've been working at VirtualAPT for about a year and a half and overall it's been great. I worked in hospitality for 12 years - mostly as a bartender - making my resume look a little underwhelming to a lot of potential employers. The folks at VirtualAPT saw my potential for a client-facing position and took the time to train me in my new role, answering tons of questions and giving me space to learn. They saw, and continue to see, my value as a person beyond just my ability to do a job which makes me feel respected and cared for - something a lot of my peers don't experience at work. Another big positive is that there is room for growth. I know one of the reputations of a start-up company is that employees are asked to wear a ton of different hats in order to push the company forward. That's certainly the case here - my job entails me playing a lot of different roles - but that has allowed me to figure out what I enjoy and what I don't, something I don't know I would have experienced if my job weren't as fluid as it is. Overall my first serious foray into a more career-oriented position has been positive and I see myself happily staying in my position for the foreseeable future.

This isn't the company's fault but I got hired during COVID times and have been remote my entire tenure. I like working from home, but it is a little strange that I haven't ever met most of my coworkers in person. We've managed to build pretty strong relationships anyway but it was definitely a learning experience, especially considering that my previous job could only be done in person.
