The usual bad corporate leadership, in spades, often profoundly dysfunctional in its approach and its internal relationships (eg. working with the local markets who actually, you know, do stuff). A genuinely weird 'business manager' and 'chief of staff' directors' offices org structure means each director has a 'business manager' to hide behind while the CEO has the same in the form of a rabid and heavily armed pitbull; it was the most comically awful thing I've seen in 1.5 decades of UK corporate life, but it does allow a bunch of very well paid white men to avoid dealing with actual human beings on a daily basis while they come up with new ways to avoid paying tax.
