Svantaggi
Inexperienced managers, no support other than from collegues. GP federation usually only interested in Practice manager feedback and not in wellbeing of social prescribers. Poorly managed compared to other GP Federations. Practice Managers discuss / compare their social prescribers at meetings with other practice managers despite huge differences in the way they may be expected to work. No real understanding or guidelines to GPs or Social Prescribers on what constitues a referal. No agreement on what software should be used to make referrals . You are personally responsible for the uncapped referrals from your practices ( 4 if you are full time) unlike other teams in Ealing who share the practices as a team. This leaves Social prescribers open to workplace bullying and unfair comparasions with others in your team if a particular practice manager takes a dislike to you for any reason. Particular practice managers are known to have bullied peoplei n other areas of Ealing but are still allowed to make vague and unfair comments. Some practice managers are very supportive but only the ones who make the most noise are listened to. Equipment is often old and not able to do the job. When it fails you have to sort out the problem yourself if IT say it is not suitable. Some collegues work from home others work at practices ( again dependant on the needs of the practice managers)
