I was a part of WSP in the Middle-East. I was a bit surprised that they had won some of the top tier projects in UAE. They pay salaries on time. You can book a lot of overtime even though do not work very hard, PM's do not monitor this. I haven't booked overtime to be honest, big mistake.

- They lay-off smart people without specific reason, even though the employee has not committed any errors or mistakes. When asked for the reason of redundancy, the management says 'It was just a cost cutting measure.' - Management has laid off employees who worked for a very short duration for no specific reason at all whilst retaining older staff who are responsible for not winning work (Most but not all) - Management provides false assurance to the staff that they are close to winning some great projects. In reality, they did not win most of them. - Retain useless staff who like to butter the management and literally do no positive contribution to the firm - HR policies are management friendly and not really favorable to the staff - HR folks do not have an answer to most queries of the redundant staff. - After redundancies are made, HR sends false emails to redundant employees providing details of 'possible' jobs within wsp group. In reality, there are none! They just want to show that they care for the employees. - Personal Friendships mean more to the management that professionalism and hardwork. Employees who are close friends with managers in wsp middle east get away without any issues. I personally do not recommend this company to any talented candidates. Please think many many times and take advise from your seniors in the industry before you take up a job here.
