Vantaggi
Getting into the technology finally. Meet a lot of good people. If you are lucky you do not get someone from outside the company to be your boss
Svantaggi
You work long hours like 70 to 80 hours a week because the people underneath you cannot think for themselves No matter how much you teach and train people they do not get it. Company downsized and expect hourlies to do too much with more depts. Too many dumb people from Home Depot in District Manager and above position that do not know what the hell goes on in stores. Forget having a family if you are a store manager, they expect that your store is always in top notch condition. They forget who shops your store. If you offer low prices then you get low wage customers who does not care and throw things on the floor, let their kids run around the store and if they get lost it is your fault, spill drinks all over the floor and slip on it and claim an accident so they can sue the company. They roll out all these new programs like inventory management but when you finally get your receiving empty they pound you with freight and if it does not sell and your receiving is full they ask you if you are the right person for the job. It is ok for the District Manager to lie their way out of Home Office visit but do not do that to them because you are putting your integrity into question. Most associates cannot think for themselves, they get themselves into trouble with their personal lives and think you can solve it. They put all this money into clearing the action alleys but as soon as you finish they tell you to put Home Office features back on them. But when you ask for you to get merchandise out of your receiving you are blocking customer space. I can probably write a book on the cons.
