Though some might find this frustrating, I was thankful to be brought into so many aspects of the business from sales, membership, food and beverage, banquets/events, facilities, grounds maintenance, and more. I was an active participant in setting budgets, reviewing P and Ls, setting short term and long term strategy, marketing and purchasing. I felt my voice was heard and my opinions were valued. Lucy Mitchell shared a career's worth of knowledge and experience on so many aspects of club management and operations. I benefited from quite a bit of direct mentorship from Lucy and with the appropriate time she put a great deal of trust in my abilities. Additionally, I received tremendous support from other industry experts like Jeff Smith, Aaron Gleason, Kelli Kirchoff, and Bryce Voisin. The role set me up for success for future positions both in and out of the industry.

Its the golf industry so expect long hours. If the sun is shining you are probably working.
