poor recruitment + toxic team - Recensione dipendente - Software Quality Assurance Engineer presso Wargaming

Just my own experience: - After the interview, recruiter pushed me to lower my salary expectations. - As part of the relocation package, our family of three was placed in a tiny room for a month. Yes, It's faimous hotel, but I think, it could be even cheaper, but much more comfortable. - Inexperienced and toxic direct manager. From the very first week, I was told how terrible the company culture was, how low the salaries were, and how poor the management was. Truly inspiring motivation, no doubt. (Even her random loud swearing in the office certainly didn’t help the situation.) - This is the first company in my life where my questions to more experienced colleagues were called "stupid" (C). - An indifferent department manager. The guy who spoke to me only twice and never in a proper one-on-one, suddenly decided I wasn't fit for the role — even though I had clearly explained my skills and experience during the interview with him. In the end, he still couldn't provide me with adequate feedback on what exactly dissatisfied him. - Onboarding was practically nonexistent. - Office-only work. The worst part is that you're not allowed to arrive later than 10:00 (or maybe 10:30 — I don't remember exactly), and for every 5 minutes of being late, you'll be called out. Overall, working at the company might be fine, but it’s clear that I wasn’t lucky with part of the team. For most of my probation period, I was left to fend for myself. Sometimes, developers were eager to help, but then some of them would complain to management that I was wasting their precious time. Sure, a mentor would have been more helpful in this case, but you never know which of your questions she’ll consider stupid.
