Vantaggi
I have been here for over 4 years and truly think it is a great place for both regular employees and contractors. I worked closely with different teams and departments on projects, and the overall feedback has been hugely positive. A relatively medium sized company but there is a big can-do attitude. A smart group of people, a big emphasis on leadership and quality, and management has regular meetings to ensure employees have a clear path forward. Everyone has a voice in meetings, there is a good mix of people from all over the world. There are some hectic times with deadlines like most O&G companies, but nothing unusual. I worked on the ISO 9001 project personally, so I saw first-hand employees and small groups brainstorming processes for weeks and months to develop procedures. Its especially impressive when CEO and top management make it a priority to sit in every quality meeting, and actually make sure the processes work. Managers literally leave their doors open and encourage you to ask any questions about a project, strategy or general industry trends. . . there are a lot of engineering and technology aspects to learn, but you pretty much adjust well to the learning curve if you genuinely want to develop your skills. This is an environment where you learn and there are high project expectations which allows you to contribute, not just get paid for showing up every day. Office culture is good, none of the crazy office politics, and even CEO and VPs make it a point to stop and say hello to receptionists, interns, . . anyone. Managers are very understanding of work/life balance.
Svantaggi
Be ready to work. . . well, that’s why you’re hired anyway, so that’s not really a con. The learning curve is steep at the start with engineering processes, etc., but once you ask questions and use the resources, everyone pretty much helps you catch up quickly.
