Vantaggi

Reasons to work at wawa as a CSA: You don't need to be management to get benefits Upper management is very caring and genuine Very flexible schedule since it's open 24/7 Clean and safe work environment Pay is slightly better than most entry level retail positions Dress code is enforced but they're not THAT ugly. You can wear comfy tennis shoes which is important when you're on your feet all day! Training is very detailed and they make sure you are comfortable in every area. Nice corporate culture The company encourages a healthy lifestyle so all the "healthy" food is 50% off for employees

Svantaggi

Downsides of being a CSA at wawa: On your feet your ENTIRE shift and there's no 15 minute breaks. only one 30 min Can deal with rude customers Some of the lower-level management can have a little too much power over CSAs Deli can be very intense depending on the time of day and who you're working with.

Vantaggi

Great coworkers, everyone was super friendly as a pleasure to work with. My managers and coworkers were all super personable people and I genuinely enjoyed working with them. The ESOP was good historically.

Svantaggi

They have been going through a soft layoff for years. RTO mandate was weaponized against employees, multi-year promotion/hiring freeze, constant scare tactics being used by senior leadership, etc. Lines of code was being used as a metric to judge engineers, and no one knew if having more or less was better. We were told it was to "build a story", if your lines of code varied significantly between months then your review would reflect that. No serious engineering department does that, this is just an arbitrary number they can point to if they want to fire you. If you argued against it, you were seen as insubordinate.
