Current management lacks courage to make the hard, necessary, strategic decisions for any higher ed institution to succeed in the 21st century; the academic affairs division is the biggest and functions most like a silo, stifling innovation; there have been some pockets of leaders trying to do right by their people, but mostly it's stuck in a rut of hierarchy and bureaucracy
