The organization is very focused on the mission of ending gender-based violence, as well as working to fight other injustices that impact other marginalized communities. If you care about truly working on behalf of communities this is a great place to work.

The pay doesn't increase as fast as I would like to see. Though I have to be honest and say I've seen multiple raises given over the years. This is a nonprofit issue in general.

The job was meaningful, the office was great, work boundary was good, and everyone there was nice and supportive. I like my coworkers and supervisor.

It's hard to survive in NY with the entry level salary but it's better than a lot of similar positions in the market. Also, you can get very busy once the caseloads build up and 8 hours is not enough for finishing all the work.
