The pay is vastly substandard for the level of work you do as a Tech. You're expected to do in depth troubleshooting for enterprise equipment, business customers, websites, email servers, router setup and additional duties within the company for no extra pay (as a base tech. Since "everyone has to wear multiple hats"). Little room for growth, Support manager is passive-aggressive.
The review where XM said that "Employees who have shown ambition, complete projects, and communicate their desires have worked up to six figure salaries, even though they started at entry level positions", is bunk. Maybe in the old days, but No tech in the time that I was there was promoted out to a position with anywhere near those numbers. As for the "Competitive pay" part, there's a Pizza delivery place nearby that is (as of now) hiring for $20hr +tips. Over $3 more than base pay there.
