Vantaggi
A lot of ownership of your role at manager level. Great if you're independent and want to crunch work out for a good salary. Well paid once at mid or manager-level. You learn a lot about business management beyond your department, which is great experience to take anywhere. Huge numbers focus, if you're data-minded you'll thrive. Great medical aid and maternity benefits. This is perfect if you're at a time in your life where you are very experienced, manage pressure well and have a family to support.
Svantaggi
Workload is extremely high. Marketing department is high pressured (like a lot of marketing depts but here the volume will never decrease). You focus on sales and are driven by numbers, there's no downtime or 'slower weeks' and less space for creativity. Black Friday month is intense, and you won't get compensated for the extra work into the late hours. The downside of ownership of your role is you're working on your own. Not that much collaboration at the time I was there. Performance review management was non existent, so when it's time to discuss a raise or promotion, there's no evidence to back up how you've been doing.
