Wages are at the bottom of the barrel for industry standards - don’t expect to be paid well here for similar roles elsewhere, management is terrible and has no true engagement with team members beyond ticking boxes from the CEO’s demands, company doesn’t have a clear vision of what they want to do or what the roles of the various teams actually are, so be prepared to pick up responsibilities which are not your own for absolutely no benefit whatsoever but meaningless brownie points! Your feelings as an employee are non-existent and you will receive no support beyond scripted HR processes as the company is filled with robots who treat the dictator of a CEO as infallible who they accept tantrum-like behaviour from regularly, constantly changing the goalposts as to what is expected from you. Rather than your performance as an individual, your development in this company is reliant on availability of positions so you may be fed false promises for progression which will then fall through as you are repeatedly told ‘this has not been approved by the CEO’ - this is the case with majority of requests you may choose to make. This company has a huge turnover - this is not for no reason - your loyalty to this company means nothing as you will be a scapegoat once you have left, with many instances of being disrespected on company-wide written communications and meetings.

We’re always open to feedback and appreciate your positive comments on the team and benefits, but sad to hear your time at aql was not what you were expecting. We will be reviewing our interview process to specifically address the mismatch between expectation of role and roles themselves. The aql team is the company’s most valued asset, we certainly understand that and always look to help support them in any way we can. In terms of opportunity to move upwards - there is both opportunity internally within aql, but also within its group of companies. Two of aql’s companies have female leadership and board members who have worked up from more junior positions within either the same company or a related group company. With regards to low pay, we closely monitor full pay and benefits to make sure working at aql is rewarding and also support employees in other ways to develop their careers.
