You can make a bunch of money and some of the numbers being posted by long term staff are frankly obscene. The office I worked in was modern, clean and tidy. deVere have fantastic tech, dare I say it probably unrivalled.

This is not a financial advice job but rather a sales role - you're paid to ram anything you can down a clients throat, irrespective of whether it's good or bad advice (that's frankly the last thing they consider) and as long as it makes money they're all over it. To make any real money you'll need to be one of the management's favoured employees and therefore get a leg up or simply have the time to implement a multi year plan (during which you'll be under so much pressure to write business it will most likely cripple you). Minimum business expectations for new joiners are ridiculous and whole swathes of people come and go, achieving a mere fraction of the company expectations. There is no help - you'll have to go out there and find all business from scratch and to compound things you have to pay for your visa (which is illegal) and also contribute towards the office running costs for the admin team (which was in the region of £250 pm). You will need to get your head around the fact that clients will be treated like personal ATMs that you shamefully squeeze for everything you can, just to post a bit of money and have the ability to pay your bills. Your standing in town will be just about the lowest of the lows - expats will in the most part hate your guts and rightly so, the company has traditionally employed unqualified jokers and thieves who care for their clients about as much as their employer cares about them.
