There were opportunities to make good commission here. It had a very laid back environment and most of the management was good at trying to make the teams sales goals.

If you are not an aggressive or assertive salesperson, you will likely not hit your commission goal. When I worked there, they were sending people home if you had made several calls but had not made a sale. For many of us who at least need our hourly paycheck, getting sent home half way into your day was unacceptable.
