Vantaggi

The work is varied and you have the chance to be involved in working with many different customers, some large and some small, very varied from public sector to private businesses. If you like business process you get to learn a lot about how businesses work. Working from home has been in place since before the pandemic and the company is quite flexible with time off. Microsoft Teams used for meetings and internal meetings can be fun even on Teams. It's nice to be working with software that the customer actually likes, does help ! Pay is good, not exceptional and benefits are reasonable. Lots of work at the moment which is encouraging for the future.

Svantaggi

Letchworh is not London so little opportunity for nice lunch. Home working is not always good, would like an office sometimes.

Vantaggi

Friendly and supportive team who are easy to work with. Management trust developers and give real ownership of work. Interesting projects with a good balance between maintaining existing systems and building new features. Flexible working, good work life balance, and a culture where people are genuinely willing to help each other.

Svantaggi

Like most growing companies, priorities can sometimes shift quickly and there can be competing demands. Some legacy areas of the codebase take time to modernise, but this is generally understood and improving over time.

Vantaggi

It was a very small company, there was very little of anything.

Svantaggi

I only worked there for 2 months; after 2 weeks I contracted what was later diagnosed as Long COVID, which has taken me over 6 months to recover from. Despite looking and feeling like death and suffering daily from anxiety and panic attacks I was still required in the office 5 days a week. The job was sold to me by the recruiter as a hybrid role but it wasn't. I felt guilty booking doctors appointments, blood tests or taking sick days, so I had to resort to lying to cover up my symptoms and endured another 6 weeks of utter hell. The walk out, home to bed, was unquestionably the highlight of my entire time there. Luckily I was already negotiating and had a new role within a few days, that I was able to defer for another 2 weeks, to focus on my recovery. The job prospects looked bleak, I could never get an answer to what work or projects were on the horizon. The office atmosphere was pretty boring, there was little collaboration or knowledge sharing.
