nothing´s very formal, so you can get flexibility with time off and occasional work at home. I If you´re good politically, have no sense of honesty and can worm your way into the ¨¨in crowd¨¨ you´ll go far.

Management as such doesn´t exist. They´re just an extension of VIkas, who knows all, sees all and controls all--or so he thinks. In technology where I worked, decisions are made by people who are incompetent and not qualified to make them. A finance guy was a CTO. All he cared about was cutting costs, with no regard to anything else. So we buy mission-critical DB servers on eBay and then learn the hard way when they crash and company is down for 3 days. A coterie of those who are have ingratiated themselves with VK make all the decisions. If you try to argue, you will be browbeaten and micromanaged into submission. Then, when the system will fail as a result of your advice being ignored, you will be called by the very same people and asked to fix it. There´s no support (why pay for it?), no respect fo technical staff or any other employees. As far as reviews/bonuses--that´s where they cheat and lie the most. The bonus in theory is up to 100%. However, the way the system is structured (although they don´t tell you at first), you will see 8-15% and will be told you´re lucky you didn´t get on probation. If you´re really good and threaten to quit you might get something though. Bottom line--no trust, no communication, no prospects. In my division, the turnover was 40% annual, among guys in HQ in NYC it was 70%. The only ones who stay long are work-at-homes and Indian workers on visas.
