Vantaggi
It is possible to make a decent living income working full time for Tutor ABC which is not easy to do as an online freelancer. The work is very flexible, but getting less so (see bellow). Pay is always regualr A good variety of lesson and students keeps the job interesting.
Svantaggi
Unfortunately in the last few months the company has started to treat it's staff more like naughty children than professional teachers. For example if one is not logged into a class 1 minute before it begins then you are automatically removed from the lesson and you lose pay for that hour. If this happens 3 times within 3 months you lose a week of work, and 6 times within 6 months you instantly lose your job. This could be fair enough if it only affected teacher who are unprofessional and late for classes. However they make absolutely no exception for technical troubles, power cuts, internet glitches or even server errors on the part of the company. As full time staff I work on average 150- 200 lessons a month. That's a lot of chances for something to go wrong at the last minute and to lose a job on which I depend. The list of things they tell us we can be instantly dismissed for grows by the week. In short there is very little job security and it has become impossible to budget what one may make month by month. My advice to anyone thinking of working for Tutor ABC is do it part time but don't give up your day job if you have rent to pay.
