Made minimum wage, not enough hours in the day to do all the work, was rarely paid in time (sometimes two weeks late). Overall I wasn't valued as a team member and was often asked to make tea and coffee for the owners (I didn't have a problem with doing this but I personally wouldn't ask someone to do that for me, it's a bit insulting and there's no reason why you can't make it yourself). I was often asked to work in the warehouse at short notice which is a health and safety hazard as we were rarely wearing the right shoes for it (bad when the floor is covered in nails...). On several occasions I wouldn't be able to finish eating my lunch as I'd be rushed to the warehouse. Overall it was a pretty terrible place to work, probably the worst job I've ever had. Sometimes people would do unpaid work over the weekend and tag you in the social media posts, quite a toxic culture as you should be able to not work outside your hours if you choose to. I should also mention that we had to bring our own laptops to work as there weren't enough computers for everyone. You can't assume everyone has a laptop they want to bring and this should be stated in the job advert. Also, when I brought my laptop in I was encouraged to look into buying a more expensive one for the job. I didn't do this as I was on such low pay and didn't plan to do the job. The company should provide these things, it's a bit ridiculous. They clearly only care about making money and don't value their employees at all.
