Svantaggi
I had a disappointing experience due to the management culture rather than the company itself. Marcus Evans has talented employees and strong potential, but my experience was negatively affected by the way parts of middle management operated. In my experience, there was a layer of middle management that controlled the flow of information to senior leadership. This often resulted in decisions being made based on incomplete or inaccurate information, leading to miscommunication, unrealistic expectations, and avoidable issues for project teams. One of the biggest challenges was the lack of effective technical and project leadership. Managers are expected to understand their team's strengths and weaknesses, identify project risks early, coordinate across functions, and take ownership when problems arise. Instead, I often observed responsibility being shifted to team members rather than addressing the underlying issues. This created a culture where blame sometimes took precedence over collaboration and problem-solving. Modern software projects require coordination across frontend, backend, architecture, design, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and data. Effective managers do not need to be experts in every discipline, but they should have sufficient understanding to ask the right questions, make informed decisions, and support their teams. I frequently felt that decisions were made without that level of understanding, which affected project outcomes and team morale. The company has many capable and hardworking people. With more transparent communication between teams and leadership, greater accountability, and stronger technical and project management within middle management, I believe the work environment and project execution could improve significantly.
